Day 28 - Smile

Getting back in the pool today, seeing my friends (and being treated like a long lost celebrity! ha!) definitely brought a big smile to my face today.

Swan gave us bookends to commenorate our time in England and our family's traditional engagement photos.

My sore throat was comforted by the simplicity of hot water with lemon slices and honey.

I saw a post on Facebook about Bran Castle being for sale.  As I'm sure MWC would consider purchasing it for me,  I went back through our photos from our visit there to help him decide and came across this picture of a window.

One current:  looking through the window to our backyard.  We have special screens on the windows to help keep the house cooler from the sun beating in.  Not only does it keep it cooler, it makes some really cool patterns looking out.

20 years from now when their children are hearing about their walking to school uphill in the rain and snow every morning, I can win some serious grandmother points for proving otherwise.  mwahahahaha!

This guy is wearing a mask and skulking away trying to remain faceless to us.  Its a little blurry as it was taken very quickly with my phone through my sliding door glass to catch him.

This chair is really a scale. Guests visiting rich estates in England had to weigh in at the beginning of the visit and it was shameful for the host if they did not leave heavier than when they arrived.

Our diminishing collection from Germany.  Moves and marrying off kids wreaks havoc on the size of one's nutcrackers and smokers from Germany collection.

Day 12- Something I Wore

My knee issue has set off my back issues and being in full back spasm pain has even more seriously limited the size of my world for scoping out photo prompts.  So today with my yoga pants, sweatshirt and heating pad, I'm also "wearing" this awesome quilt my mama made me.

Day 10 - Lucky

As today I'm not so "lucky", I've opted to find an older photo to enforce myself to be a good girl and stay off my swollen, painful knee.  I prefer to think of blessings over luck as I know the One from Whom all things come.  As I thought of my blessings, our children and our travels are usually the first things that come to mind.  Then "Luck of the Irish" popped into my head and I decided to look through my Ireland photos to find something.  Then I remembered my rainbow in Ireland shot and knew it had to be the one.  I'm adding an extra bonus one...look familiar to anyone?  (hint: its for Star Wars fans)

Sweetness traded her shoes in for skates this morning.

Forgot to post yesterday.  Preparing for a little reading break..Remains of the Day warrants tea and cozying up with my Downton Abbey quilt.

Its always a sad day for me the day one of my chickies leaves to return to his or her own nest.  Today's rainy, blustery weather totally fits my mood.

New Year...New Creativity

I've missed my photo of the day challenges so decided to give it a try again.

This #FMSPHOTOADAY has been my go to in the past so I'm sticking to it again.

BLACK and WHITE

WHAT I DID TODAY

 We went to Alcatraz Island. The first shot is one I took in November from a sailboat.  The second one is what I "really did today"...handed the camera to MWC and had him take the picture while I stayed slightly warmer inside the ferry on the ride over.  As you can probably tell from the photos, the November day was MUCH sunnier and warmer.

WATER

I was thinking it was super cold water for sailing that day.  On my way home got a text from my mother asking if I'd seen the swimmers swimming around that island that day.  They're even crazier than the sailboats getting "on" the water that day.
